N95 and the flip video - first short thingy from the underground

I am learning about film at the moment and have been experimenting with shooting and editing some stuff - I have decided to use this track by "the sound" - winning. Well first efforts first...I thought I should keep it simple, lo-fi. So heres some footage of my trip to and from work.

I have to say that the flip video is a really cool little tool for learning about editing - You can just throw it down and get cracking with the editing.....not bad really. Not bad at all.

I think we are dying!

Common shape and forms

I was walking home last night pondering the shape of things; I kept asking myself the question " why are nerves, lightening and trees all the same shape! Is it some kind of natural distribution or to do with efficiency, gravity or the quickest root!!!! I am sure it is something simple, no doubt the golden ration or leonardo da vinci has the secret!!.....If anyone out there has the answer or can help me with this then please let me know.....The shape of lightening.....

External nervous system - real time flight patterns

Attack of the blob, but a blob with soul!

Simple recipe for an attack of the blob.....

Corn Starch ----- Check

Cup of water----- Check

The Rolling stones ----- Check

If you put some corn starch and water together you create a non-newtonian liquid.....Which essentially means that it is a liquid until you apply force then it turns into a solid....Sounds wierd right.....Well look what happens when you pump some tunes throught it....instant horror movie....Awesome. Its just not right.....Cornstarch should not dance to james brown!

It gets better. Each band creates creates a different shape....I am planning to raise the blob with some Jimi hendrix and squarepusher! Its strange because looking a the blob I get a faint sense of a night club crowd or a mosh pit....Which just proves the strength of a crowd!

Politics and power moves for the Kids!!

I have found these two animated videos, one argues for communism and one argues against it. They are both interesting in their own way and try to manipulate our underlying affection with innocence..Communist or not you have to appreciate the way they get the message across. Using kids cartoons can raise all kinds of affiliation and emotional strength. Are they even aimed at kids?! or just innocence obsessed adults.....Enjoy!
