I don't know if this is original or not. I assume it probably isn't.
I just had a conversation with a friend, who mentioned he hated reading books with tight line spacing. I can totally understand where he is coming... Reading is effectively turning pages so why not create a book where the number of words and lines increase as you get further into the book.
This would enable the reader to feel like they are into a book, before they are really into a book.
Just a thought!

I remember having this idea way back when my mum and brother were singing to a karoke machine christmas day and I was watching "The great escape".
This idea is not complicated at all. Basically instead of singing along to songs people act out scenes in their favourite movies....Could be comedy, Drama, whatever!People bring their own DVD's, play the movie and switch the subtitles on!...That way they can have an autocue. In fact I think I might hold this myself....Let me think up a name and we can get started. mmmmmmm.....Got it!
CASTING COUCH
Done all I need now is a trendy venue, some drunk people, a t.v and a dvd player....karaoke just got on the bus!

I have been reading a bit about the opensource movement redesigning the O/s of the IPOD so it can have more flexibility ( podzilla ). Just a thought but I think it would be great if IPOD and Mozilla got together and created the first ever WIKIPOD. A device that you can play music on and carry around the entire content of Wikipedia....now that would be an invention I would like to use....I wouldn't mind paying for it either. An encyclopedia the size of a pack of playing cards.....mmmmm!
You can listen to music or read about anything at any time.......I am sure the interface could be jigged around......Imagine that.....pretty sweet huh ! Knowledge just got portable!

Simply a cup that changes colour the longer the tea back has been in the cup of water, basically a heat sensitive cup with three colours weak, medium, strong :)
That way you can ask people how strong they like their tea and you never have to get it wrong again. The cup could also have levels in side for amount o water, milk ect ect for people who like milky. PG time for sure......

How many things are there in the world that you use alot but wish you didn't have to pay for. I think ownership in City centres of certain goods in pointless. Access is a far better solution.
I reckon it would be wise for a firm to leave cheap push bikes all over the city. The trick being that all the bikes wheels are locked by magnets. You know the same ones on Sainsbury's trolleys. The only way to access the bike is to purchase a "key" from said firm that enables you to switch off the magnets clamping the wheel, wouldn't be too difficult to work out. The magnets and electronics needed could be powered by the energy from a giro on the back wheel of the bike.
The trick to this being that each time you unlock a bike your credit on your key is reduced and you can buy a freedom pass. It could be just expensive enough to cover the cost of the bikes and the maintenance or have a direct debit scheme.
If the bike breaks you send a text message "as to the location" and someone comes to pick it. The bikes could be Tracked by GPS. you could text your post code to a locator number(google maps) and the nearest bike will be texted back, which you can open up and ride. The tyres wont puncture because they are solid state or foam.
Just an idea But it could work

I have been watching the back catalogue of Ze Frank this week. I have been watching his show for a while now. But thought Hey what the heck why not try to see what the very first Ze Frank show was like. It was no mean feat and I didn't get there. SO I started looking around his site and I found an interesting article of the politics of convention.
Basically it turned out to be a justification for unconventional thought. I found some of the points made quite interesting. Overall here is basic outline.
Convention whatever its form exists in alls societies. The less Of a hold conventional thought has over you the more potential for originality. If you have opinions you don't want to express in public then convention is dictating to you. If everything you believe is something you are supposed too. Chances are you are just doing what you are told. Could be that you are just a conventional mind just like the conventional minds of 1939????
Well any way check it out here

Phase transition......I am reading a book by barbarasi at the moment on network theory....I absolutely love this stuff....Anyway I really liked the idea of phase transition. Think cocktail party - 100 random strangers all unconnected. Phase transition occurs when everyone is attached to someone else in some capacity......imagine the instant an ice cube completes freezing. Its simple really but I mulled it over for about ten minutes...imagining the moment as a brilliant aggregate attaining something more. I couldn't help feeling a certain connection with the ideas of Elias Canneti in crowds and power. Transition from a group of individuals pulling in different directions to that of a crowd or mob united and in emotional harmony.
Random or not I am open to this one!
